1. Introduction

PaperNext is a client application for Paperless-ngx. This privacy policy explains how data is handled when using the application.

PaperNext connects to a self-hosted Paperless-ngx instance. All data remains solely on your own server and on your local device.

2. Data We Collect

The application processes only the local data necessary for its operation:

• Server URL and authentication data (stored locally and securely)
• Document metadata and content retrieved from your Paperless-ngx server and stored locally
• Local application settings and preferences

No data is transmitted to the app developer or to external services.

3. Purpose of Processing

This data is used exclusively to:

• establish a connection to your Paperless-ngx server
• display and manage your documents
• cache documents and previews locally for offline access
• synchronize changes with your server

4. Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device:

• Authentication data is stored in the platform-specific secure storage
• Documents and metadata are stored in a local SQLite database
• Preview images are cached in temporary storage

No data is transferred to third parties. Any processing of personal data occurs solely on your self-hosted Paperless-ngx server under the responsibility of its administrator.

5. Data Security

The following measures are implemented:

• Access credentials are stored in secure, platform-specific storage
• Communication with your server uses HTTPS (if configured)
• No analytics or tracking services are used

6. Third-Party Services

PaperNext does not use any external analytics, tracking, or advertising services. Communication occurs only with your configured Paperless-ngx server.

7. Data Deletion

You can delete locally stored data at any time:

• “Delete local data” removes documents and metadata
• “Clear preview cache” removes cached preview images
• Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

8. Children’s Privacy

PaperNext is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date.
