Biometric lock - where is it?

In the release notes for 0.5.6 you are mentioning "Biometric lock now has a configurable grace period so ...". Cool. Because that would indicate that PaperNext has a biometric lock. And from the text in the notes it seems like this should exist for quite a while? Also saw that my private feature request about that topic back for v0.3.1 was closed as "implemented". Didn't recognized that yet.

But if so: where is this hidden? When checking 0.5.6 on my iPhone and iPad (both latest OS), I can't find any option to activate touch/faceID in any way. I would expect to have that in settings > security. But I only have 2 options there, one for selfsigned certificates and one for screenshots.

Did I miss something here or is this only available on Android? Or only available if I uninstall PaperNext and re-install it from scratch?

Thx!

Good morning Shakebox,

You are right - the function referenced there is only implemented on Android.

When I implemented the device-specific functions, I excluded iOS because iOS already provides its own biometric lock at the OS level.

If you long-press the app icon, you can request Face ID lock, for example.

Thanks,
Björn

ok, got it. to be honest, never used that function on my iphone yet. didn't really knew that this option exists.

Not sure if other users really know that option. Most other apps with sensitive data (banking, etc.) implement password and face/touch ID from inside of the app. Most users will be used to that behaviour, I guess. So maybe it would be worth to implement something similar for PaperNext iOS version as well, so it would behave similar to all the apps that normal iOS users are used to.
