You can manually sync to the server if you pull down the view on the home screen like in alot of other apps as well. What I don't like about this: it only updates this home view but for example not the inbox itself. Only the values/content of the home screen is updated but not if you click on the inbox area top right to view the inbox documents list.
How to replicate (for example):
- have no document with an inbox tag in the server version
- kill the app on your mobile device
- open the app. if the auto sync is selected, this works as expected. you see 0 as amount in the inbox area top right of the home screen. if you click on this inbox area top right or on the the inbox tab button bottom right, it shows an empty inbox.
- now add an inbox tag to one or more documents VIA WEB GUI (!)
- go to the homescreen in the app and pull down to start the manual sync.
- homescreen reflects properly that there are 1 or more documents in the inbox now. correct for the area top right of the home screen and also if you have saved views with a counter
- but if you now click on the inbox area top right or the inbox tab bottom right, it still shows an empty inbox
(if you do it the other way around with first having items in the inbox, then remove the tags via web GUI, then do a manual update in PaperNext you will have false positive documents in the inbox list)
I know that you can do a manual sync when you are in the inbox tab/view and update that as well. But not having updated lists/views when doing a manual sync on the home screen feels very weird and can potentially lead to confusion or even errors for users. So manual sync on the home screen should also always sync the inbox as well in my opinion.
Manual sync on homescreen not working as expected
